Most of what people ask about in Scott County belongs with one of four offices. Route the question by the record rather than by the county name.

  • Whether a Scott County warrant exists: call the Sheriff's Office Jail and Warrants line at 952-496-8314. Have a full legal name and date of birth ready.
  • A warrant for a missed court date: call Scott County Court Administration at 952-496-8200, because the District Court that set the case holds the warrant and controls any recall.
  • Resolving or clearing a warrant: talk to a licensed Minnesota defense attorney and the issuing court about a recall, a reset, an arranged surrender, or bond.
  • An arrest warrant tied to a charge: the District Court sets the charge and release terms, and an authorized officer serves the warrant. Ask the warrant line what is on file.
  • A police report or city citation: call the police records desk in the city that wrote it.
  • A jail or booking record: call Sheriff Records at 952-496-8303 or the main Sheriff's line at 952-496-8300.

County offices are in Shakopee. The Sheriff's Office and Jail are at the Law Enforcement Center, 301 Fuller Street South, and Sheriff Records is on the second floor there. Court Administration is at the Scott County Courthouse and Justice Center, 200 Fourth Avenue West, suite JC115, with weekday hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
